What to pack for Malawi in the winter

Packing list tips

Malawi in the winter image

For a winter trip to Malawi, it's important to pack clothing that will keep you warm during the cooler season.

Be sure to bring long-sleeved shirts, sweaters or lightweight jackets for layering. You'll also want to pack a few pairs of jeans or pants to keep your legs warm, as well as some comfortable walking shoes for exploring.

Since Malawi's winter season can still be relatively warm during the day, it's a good idea to include some lighter clothing as well, such as t-shirts and shorts for when the sun is out. Don't forget to bring a hat and sunglasses for sun protection, and a light scarf or shawl for cooler evenings. And of course, be sure to pack a swimsuit if you plan on visiting any of Malawi's beautiful lakes or beaches.

As always, don't forget essential items like sunscreen and insect repellent to keep yourself protected during your trip.
